Feeling frustrated with how your character is performing in *Avowed*? It's common to choose a class or distribute attributes in a way that doesn't suit your playstyle. Fortunately, *Avowed* offers a way to respec and tweak your stats to better fit your gaming preferences. In this guide, I'll walk you through the process of respeccing your character, abilities, attributes, and even your companions.
Choosing the perfect character build right from the start can be challenging. That's where respeccing comes in handy. If you're not enjoying your current playstyle, consider respeccing. In *Avowed*, I initially tried a full wizard build, but after getting repeatedly defeated, I switched to a more balanced spellsword approach. Later in the game, you might want to respec again to optimize your combat effectiveness and achieve your ideal build.
To respec your abilities in *Avowed*, open the menu and navigate to the "Abilities" section. At the bottom of the screen, you'll find the "Reset Points" option. The initial cost is 100 Copper Skeyt, which increases as you progress in the game. Select the button, confirm your choice, and pay the listed price. This action will reset all your ability points across all skill trees, except for the "Godlike" abilities, which are determined by in-game choices and cannot be altered.
If you're satisfied with your abilities but not your attributes, or if you're looking to overhaul your character completely, you can respec your attribute points. Navigate to the "Character" section in the menu. At the bottom, you'll see a button with an associated cost, starting at 100 Copper Skeyt, which increases over time. Press the button, pay the cost, and you'll regain your Attribute points to reallocate as you see fit.
To respec your companion in *Avowed*, open the menu and go to the "Abilities" section, then switch to the "Companions" tab. Below your companion's name, you'll find an icon with a button that, when pressed, allows you to spend the required amount of Copper Skeyt to reset their points. Confirm your choice, and you'll have all your companion's points back to redistribute. Remember, you need to respec each companion individually.
And that's how you can respec in *Avowed* to tailor your character and companions to your preferred playstyle.
