Bandai Namco Announces Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage EOS

Bandai Namco's fortress strategy RPG, Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage, is officially shutting down on December 9th, 2024, ending a nearly seven-year run. This isn't entirely unexpected, mirroring the fate of other Naruto gacha games like Naruto Blazing, which also faced challenges and ultimately ceased operation.

Shutdown Timeline and Final Events:

The game will remain playable until December 9th. Players can enjoy several upcoming events:

  • Village Leader World Championship: October 8th - 18th
  • All-Out Mission: October 18th - November 1st
  • 'Thanks For Everything' Campaign: November 1st - December 1st

Players can continue collecting Ninja Cards, participating in summons, and utilizing in-game items until the final day. It's advisable to spend any remaining Gold Coins before the shutdown.

Reasons for Closure:

While initially successful with its balanced village-building, trap-setting, and defense mechanics, the game's trajectory shifted. The introduction of Minato Namikaze marked a turning point, escalating power creep and alienating players. This was compounded by increasingly overt pay-to-win mechanics, reduced free-to-play rewards, and the near-disappearance of multiplayer features. These factors contributed to a gradual decline in player base and ultimately led to the game's closure. The game remains available on the Google Play Store for those wishing to try it before its shutdown.
