Indie game developer Sander Frenken has revealed that his strategy game, Battledom, is currently undergoing alpha testing. This RTS-lite title serves as a spiritual successor to Frenken's 2020 hit, Herodom. Developed over approximately two years by the part-time developer, Battledom closely resembles Frenken's original vision for Herodom.
Battledom introduces flexible RTS battle mechanics, allowing players to freely maneuver units across the battlefield. Engage enemies from afar, manually controlling siege weapons for devastating attacks. Strategic formations further enhance gameplay.
Players earn coins to recruit units, initially equipped with basic weapons and no armor. However, customization options allow for equipping units with various weapons and armor pieces, each impacting stats such as attack power, range, accuracy, and defense.
Resource gathering is key. Players must collect materials like wood, leather, and coal within their village to craft these upgrades at locations such as the blacksmith or magician's workshop.
Frenken's previous title, Herodom, enjoys a 4.6 App Store rating. This tower defense game features over 55 collectible heroes, 150 units and siege weapons, and historically inspired battles. Progress unlocks new character customization options and farm additions.
Interested players can participate in the Battledom alpha test via TestFlight on iOS devices. For updates and further information, follow Sander Frenken on X or Reddit, or explore his other games on the App Store.
