Season 2 of *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6* has officially launched today, bringing with it an exciting new feature that makes the progression grind a little smoother. The Camo Challenge Tracking feature is a game-changer, and here’s a quick guide on how it works to help you maximize your gameplay experience.
The latest patch notes for *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6* introduce the Camo Challenge Tracking system, which is designed to make it easier for players to keep tabs on their progress. As detailed in the notes, “The Challenge Tracker makes it easy for players to manually track up to 10 Camo and 10 Calling Card Challenges they’re actively working toward, but there’s another element of this system that we think players will find useful on the journey to Dark Matter, Nebula, and 100 Percenter: Near Completion.”
This innovative feature allows you to manually select up to 10 camos to keep an eye on, ensuring you can easily monitor your progress without having to navigate through the main menu constantly. Furthermore, the tracker sends notifications for challenges you're close to completing, even if they're not among the ones you've chosen to track. This is a significant advantage, especially when you're juggling multiple challenges at once.

To start tracking your chosen challenge, navigate to the Camo or Calling Card challenge you want to monitor. On an Xbox controller, press the Y button, or if you're using a PlayStation controller, press the Triangle button to add the challenge to your tracker. This allows you to view your progress on various camos or calling cards during live matches, ensuring you know exactly what to do next to progress to the next level.
Even if you don't manually select a challenge, the game will automatically populate your tracker with the challenges you're closest to completing. This feature is always accessible, so you can easily check what you're about to unlock.
Additionally, the top tracked or near-complete camo and calling card challenges are displayed in the *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6* lobby under the Daily Challenge section, providing a comprehensive list of what's close to being unlocked.
The Season 2 update also makes unlocking special camos more achievable. Previously, you needed to unlock nine military camos before accessing a special camo. Now, that number has been reduced to five, making the journey to those coveted mastery camos a bit less daunting. However, you still need to unlock two special camos to earn the mastery camos.
There's been much discussion about the overwhelming number of camos for each weapon and the difficulty in tracking progress and achieving the necessary headshots and kills. It's clear that Treyarch has taken player feedback to heart, introducing more efficient ways to earn and equip camos, enhancing the overall enjoyment of *Call of Duty: Black Ops 6*.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
