Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has released its first update since launch. Sandfall Interactive announced on April 30 via a Steam blog post that Hotfix 1.2.2 is now live, focusing on critical bug fixes and localization enhancements.

The update addresses several in-game issues, including a soft-lock that could occur when stunning the Grown Bourgeon, as well as other soft-lock problems on the world map. Additionally, the update includes adjustments to the French, German, and Chinese language versions of the game.

The developers are actively working on further fixes and improvements, with more details to be shared soon. While these patches are vital for enhancing the gaming experience, fans are eagerly awaiting news on potential DLC. Earlier this week, Expedition 33's lead writer responded to fan inquiries on Instagram about the possibility of DLC. In other news, Sandfall Games' Creative Director, Guillaume Broche, recommended another RPG that was released on the same day as Expedition 33. On April 30, Broche took to Expedition 33’s Twitter (X) account to urge fans to check out The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy. He stated, "After your Expedition, check out The Hundred Line, another great turn-based RPG that was also released last week, and made with love by an awesome team."

This recommendation came in response to The Hundred Line’s co-director Kazutaka Kodaka's earlier tweet on April 28, where he praised Expedition 33 and encouraged fans to experience both RPGs. Kodaka's tweet read, "Even after you finish Expedition 33, this Japanese cult game will still be here, waiting for you!" He followed up with a series of tweets lauding Expedition 33 and encouraging fans to try out both remarkable RPGs.

Despite facing competition from other RPGs like Expedition 33 and Oblivion Remastered released in the same week, The Hundred Line has received a "Very Positive" reception on Steam. Meanwhile, Expedition 33 continues to lead as the highest-rated game of 2025, having sold over 1 million copies in just three days.
