Supercell, the Finnish game developer, has made a surprising announcement. Following the cancellation of their RPG, Clash Heroes, they're reviving the concept in a completely new form: Project R.I.S.E.
The Full Story:
Clash Heroes is officially discontinued. However, Supercell isn't abandoning the idea. Project R.I.S.E., a social action RPG roguelite, will inherit the spirit of Clash Heroes, but with significant changes.
In a recent announcement video, game lead Julien Le Cadre confirmed the cancellation of Clash Heroes, but highlighted that Project R.I.S.E. remains a Clash-universe title, now with a multiplayer action RPG focus.
For more details, watch the announcement video:
Project R.I.S.E. will differ substantially from Clash Heroes. It's a completely new game, emphasizing cooperative gameplay. Players will team up in groups of three to explore The Tower, a mysterious location with procedurally generated floors. The objective is to ascend as far as possible. Unlike its predecessor's primarily PvE focus, Project R.I.S.E. prioritizes collaborative play with a diverse roster of characters.
Currently in pre-alpha, Project R.I.S.E. is slated for its first playtest in early July 2024. Registration for a chance to participate is open on the official website.
