Hollow Era is a captivating Roblox game inspired by the Bleach anime, offering players the chance to embody either a Shinigami (Soul Reaper) or a Hollow. In this detailed guide, we'll focus on your progression as a Shinigami. So, ready your sword, channel your Reiatsu, and let's explore this comprehensive Hollow Era Shinigami progression guide.
At the start of Hollow Era, you exist as a Soul Spirit. To transition into a Shinigami, or Soul Reaper, you need to accept the initial quest from the NPC named Hurt Shinigami, who is audibly seeking assistance. Once you commit to the Shinigami path, there's no going back to play as a Hollow—unless you later choose to become a Visored. If you're keen on exploring the Hollow route, check out our separate guide on Hollow progression.

During the selection process, you must act swiftly. Choosing to become a Hollow involves breaking your chain, whereas opting for Shinigami means the chain will gradually break on its own. Every two minutes, a section of the chain breaks, and if you let it fully break, you'll automatically transform into a Hollow. In such a case, refer to our guide on resurrection moves for your Hollow endgame.
Your first task as a Shinigami is to purify 6 Lost Souls, aligning with the Shinigami's duty to maintain balance between life and death. Following this, you'll receive a quest from an NPC near Hurt Shinigami to deliver a letter to a Doctor friend near the hospital.

This initial phase is perfect for mastering your abilities. Consider purchasing a $1,000 random sword of power from a Urakara shop. If you have the funds, utilize the bus stop for $200 as a teleport/fast travel option, as the game's map is expansive. Alternatively, you can buy infinite fast travel for 149 Robux in the Robux Shop.

Subsequent quests are marked with a red crosshair, guiding you through various tasks such as defeating Hollows and Corrupted Shinigamis. These quests are categorized into repeatable, progression, and path-specific quests, including those for Vizard and Airwalk.

To maximize your Shinigami Reiatsu, strategic investment of skill points is crucial. The Reiatsu Skill Tree offers powerful Kido abilities exclusive to Shinigami. Here's a breakdown of the Kido and Reiatsu Nodes:
To unlock Shikai, you must reach level 15 and visit Urihiro to undertake the Shikai Training quest. This involves defeating Urahara Kisuke for 1,700 exp, after which you can harness Shikai powers.

Warning: Facing Kisuke at level 15 can be challenging if your hero isn't fully optimized. Consider grinding to level 25 or higher before attempting this quest.
Upon unlocking Shikai, your weapon gains a random powerful ability. If you're not satisfied with the new power, you can re-roll it at Urahara Shop for a fee. The game features a Rage Bar that fills with damage taken or dealt. When full, press Y (default keybind) to activate Shikai, which deactivates upon depleting your Reiatsu or releasing the key.
Your Shikai Mastery Level is determined by Mastery Points earned through using Shikai Skills. Higher Mastery Levels reduce the Rage spent during Shikai usage and come with different aura effects and character appearances:
Once you've chosen the Shinigami path, you can't revert to Hollow—unless you become a Visored. This allows you to break the barrier between Shinigami and Hollow, using a Hollow Mask to switch between forms. To pursue the Vizard fighting style, you must reach level 50 and visit the Vizard’s Warehouse to start the quest. This involves acquiring the Hogyoku, a rare orb with a 1% drop rate from defeating the King of Hueco Mundo.

As a Visored, you gain Mask Control to reduce the risk of Hollow control and extend mask-wearing time, enhancing your damage output with Hollow powers.
