After the releases of *The Witcher 3* and *Cyberpunk 2077*, not all the experts at CD Projekt RED remained with the company. Some chose to embark on a new journey with *The Blood of Dawnwalker*.
Recently, *The Blood of Dawnwalker* was unveiled, developed by Rebel Wolves, a studio founded by a CD Projekt RED veteran, Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz. In an insightful interview, Tomaszkiewicz shared his reasons for leaving CDPR and starting Rebel Wolves. Here are the key points he highlighted:
"I wanted to embark on a new adventure with my friends, so we founded Rebel Wolves. We have a deep passion for role-playing games and their rich history. However, I believe that the traditional RPG mechanics can be further developed and expanded. We've come up with some innovative ideas that we're excited about. It's challenging to convince a large corporation to take risks and work with new intellectual property. That realization led us to the decision to start our own studio. We're taking risks with these novel solutions, but it's worth it.
Unlike larger studios, where processes can be more cumbersome, our studio thrives on the close relationships between team members. I believe a smaller team can achieve more because communication is easier, and discussing our vision is more straightforward. It's simpler to feel that 'creative fire' and craft something truly unique."
