Days Gone Remastered is on the horizon, and Sony's Bend Studio has recently shared exciting details about the enhanced accessibility features that will be part of this updated version of the game. One of the standout features is the ability to adjust Game Speed, which can be slowed down to 75%, 50%, or even 25% of the normal speed. This feature is designed to assist players who find themselves overwhelmed during intense gameplay moments, such as when facing hordes of Freakers.

In a recent PlayStation Blog post, Kevin McAllister, the Creative & Product Lead at Bend Studio, elaborated on the various accessibility options. He emphasized that the Game Speed adjustment is particularly beneficial for those who struggle with high-pressure situations, especially during the new Horde Assault mode that will be introduced in the remaster. "Game Speed is ideal for players who might feel overwhelmed in certain situations or have difficulty with various inputs in high-pressure moments, specifically fighting off hordes of Freakers," McAllister explained. This feature aims to make the unique combat experience more accessible to a broader range of players.

In addition to Game Speed adjustments, Days Gone Remastered will offer a suite of other accessibility options. These include customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and Collectible Audio Cues. The auto-complete QTE option, previously limited to Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty settings, from Easy to Survival II.

Bend Studio has also confirmed that most of these new accessibility features will be rolled out to the PC version of Days Gone. However, some features like feedback and customization control options will require a compatible controller.

Days Gone Remastered was officially announced in February, promising not only these accessibility enhancements but also an improved photo mode, permadeath and speedrun options, and more. Set in a post-apocalyptic world filled with zombies and centered around a biker's journey, the remastered version of the 2019 game is set to launch on April 25, 2025. Players who already own the PS4 version of Days Gone can upgrade to the PS5 remastered version for just $10.
