Gaming insider Jez Corden, on a recent episode of the Xbox Two podcast, hinted at a potential 2026 release for State of Decay 3. While Undead Labs initially aimed for a 2025 launch, Corden suggests an early 2026 window is now more realistic.

He assures fans that development is significantly further along than previously perceived, though he refrained from offering specifics. This news might disappoint some, yet it's a more positive outlook than earlier predictions suggesting a 2027 release.

June's trailer provided a glimpse into the game's post-apocalyptic world, featuring intense gun battles against zombies and Mad Max-style vehicular combat. The narrative will unfold years after the initial apocalypse, focusing on human survivors establishing and defending settlements against the undead hordes.

State of Decay 3 is slated for release on PC and Xbox Series consoles. The last installment in the series launched in 2018.
