Though Yetuga is your first boss encounter in the game, don't be fooled into thinking it will be a walk in the park. After mastering the game's combat mechanics, you'll need to use every trick in your arsenal to emerge victorious at the end of the Mount Heinmach level.
Yetuga is an aggressive adversary, relentlessly attacking when you encroach on its territory. This boss is equipped with both long and short-range attacks, including a leaping slam. To navigate this battle effectively, you'll need to hone your dodging and parrying skills to minimize damage. Yetuga's arsenal includes:
As you engage with Yetuga, you'll gradually learn its attack patterns. Strike back during the brief windows between its attacks. Except for the jumping grab, parrying its attacks will inflict more Stamina damage. You can also turn its aggression into your advantage. By dodging its charge and letting Yetuga crash into a wall, you'll open a brief window of vulnerability. Seize this opportunity to attack and potentially destroy the ice spikes on its back, weakening its offensive capabilities.

In the second phase, you can parry all of Yetuga's attacks except for the grab, which will help conserve your Stamina. Keep the pressure on, and you'll eventually trigger Yetuga's transformation. When you see it roar and power up, retreat to a safe distance.
Yetuga will then wield a giant rock, smashing it toward you. Time your dodge or parry perfectly to avoid the impact. Additionally, watch out for its frost breath, which generates ice spikes. Either move away or parry the attack when it reaches you. Seize moments to use Potent Attacks, and when Yetuga shows signs of exhaustion, unleash a Brutal Attack for significant damage. With persistence, Yetuga will soon fall.
Upon defeating Yetuga, you'll be rewarded with 4,800 Lacrima, along with Frozen Mountain gear items and the Necklace of Resolve.
