Deltarune's Nintendo Switch 2 Exclusive Feature Revealed

A Special Room and Other Exclusive Content for Switch 2

As revealed during the most recent Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, Deltarune will receive a dedicated Switch 2 release. This version will bundle Chapters 3 and 4 while introducing several features exclusive to the next-generation console.

According to a Fangamer newsletter from Deltarune creator Toby Fox, the Switch 2 edition will include a unique room that leverages the mouse functionality of the new Joy-Cons. Fox explained, "So, we made a very small SPECIAL ROOM which takes advantage of using MOUSE CONTROLS ON TWO CONTROLLERS AT ONCE, only possible on the Nintendo Switch 2!!"

For players using other platforms, this special room will still be accessible, though it will require a completely different control scheme. Additionally, players will be able to transfer their save data from the Nintendo Switch demo of Deltarune Chapters 1 and 2 to the new full release.

Future Deltarune Chapters Will Be Free Updates

The newsletter also confirmed the price for Deltarune, which will be set at $24.99. This purchase includes the existing Chapters 1 and 2, alongside the new Chapters 3 and 4. While Chapters 1 (released in 2018) and 2 (released in 2021) were initially free, it had been previously indicated that Chapters 3 through 5 would be paid content.

However, Fox has now announced that all upcoming chapters will be provided as free updates. This means a single purchase of the game grants access to all future story content at no extra cost. He stated, "But, it's my hope that as we complete more Chapters, you'll feel like this game was a super super super super good deal."

Furthermore, the game's official soundtrack will be available for purchase on Steam at $14.99. The release of Chapters 3 and 4 will add over 150 new songs to the soundtrack. Music from subsequent chapters will also be added to this collection for free. Deltarune aims to deliver outstanding value by providing all future game chapters and soundtrack additions at no additional charge.
