When Square Enix released the captivating monster collecting RPG, *Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince*, on the Nintendo Switch last year, it quickly became a personal favorite despite some technical hiccups. The game's charm and engaging gameplay loop not only set it apart from other *Dragon Quest* spinoffs but also placed it on the same pedestal as the critically acclaimed *Dragon Quest Builders 2*. While I anticipated a PC port akin to *Dragon Quest Treasures*, the idea of a mobile release seemed far-fetched—until now. Square Enix has just announced that *Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince*, priced at $23.99, will be making its way to iOS, Android, and Steam on September 11th. Excitingly, this version will include all previously released DLC, encompassing the *Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince* Digital Deluxe Edition content. You can get a sneak peek by watching the trailer below:

Square Enix has provided comparison images showcasing the game's visuals on mobile, Switch, and Steam, which you can view on their official Japanese website. Here's a glimpse of one such comparison:

It's worth noting that the online battle feature available on the Switch version, allowing real-time player battles, will not be included in the Steam and mobile versions as per the store pages.

Currently, *Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince* is available on Nintendo Switch at $59.99 for the standard edition and $84.99 for the Digital Deluxe Edition. Having thoroughly enjoyed the game on Switch, I am eagerly anticipating revisiting it for a review on iPhone, iPad, and Steam Deck when it launches on the new platforms on September 11th. It's fantastic to see Square Enix expanding the *Dragon Quest* series to mobile platforms so swiftly after the original release. Given the typical delays between console and mobile releases for the series, I initially expected *Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince* to hit mobile around 2027, similar to what we've seen with *Dragon Quest Builders*. The mobile version is priced at $29.99, while the Steam version will be $39.99. You can pre-register for the game on the App Store for iOS [here](App Store link) and on Google Play for Android [here](Google Play link). Have you experienced *Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince* on the Switch, or are you planning to dive in when it arrives on mobile and Steam in just two weeks?
