For those not in the know, it may surprise you to learn that the Epic Games Store for mobile mirrors its PC counterpart by offering free games available to claim for a limited time. Even better, on mobile, it's not monthly but weekly, and you get two games instead of one!
In the last week of April, two fantastic titles are available completely free: Loop Hero and Chuchel. Regular readers might recognize Loop Hero immediately, as it's one of our favorites here at Pocket Gamer. Jack gave it a glowing review, praising its engaging roguelike experience. If you play nothing else from this pair, make sure it's Loop Hero.
But what exactly is Chuchel? This surreal animated adventure follows the titular character, Chuchel, in his quest to retrieve his stolen cherry. Along the way, he and his rival Kekel encounter all sorts of hilarious and bizarre situations that you'll either need to navigate or simply enjoy watching unfold.
Free-for-all
Chuchel might have been a bit confusing at first, but it was still a fun experience for our App Army when they reviewed it upon release. And even if it's not your usual type of game, you can't beat the price of free. Meanwhile, Loop Hero comes highly recommended for its blend of challenging gameplay and stunning pixel art.
The Epic Games Store for mobile offers many of the same perks as its PC version, including these free releases and access to popular games like Fortnite, which are otherwise unavailable on mobile devices.
