Attention, all Sims enthusiasts: be on high alert because the notorious Burglar is making a comeback. In the latest update for The Sims 4, available on both PC and consoles, the infamous Robin Banks is set to re-enter your virtual neighborhoods. Known from the older Sims games, she's ready to pilfer your valuables, primarily under the cover of night when your Sims are fast asleep. However, don't let your guard down completely—Robin has been known to pull off audacious heists even when Sims are awake.
To safeguard your Sims' possessions, consider installing a burglar alarm. Should Robin trigger it, the police will swiftly arrive to apprehend her and return your stolen items. But even if you don't have an alarm, you can still call the police if you act quickly. Alternatively, if you're feeling bold, you can opt for vigilante justice.
While these burglar events are designed to be rare, fans of chaos can increase their chances by activating the Lot Challenge Heist Havoc.
"We are so thrilled to finally bring the Burglar back into The Sims universe," The Sims team announced. "A special shout out to our full team for making this a reality. Robin Banks isn’t just ready to rob your Sims’ houses — she’s here to steal your hearts too! What better way to celebrate The Sims' 25th Birthday than with this nostalgic yet fresh addition? We hope you’re as excited as we are to see what kind of chaos Robin Banks will bring to your households."
Despite The Sims 4 being 10 years old—and the entire series celebrating its 25th anniversary—it continues to attract new players. Last year alone, it welcomed over 15 million new players. According to EA's Q2 earnings report from late last year, The Sims 4 took four years to reach 20 million unique players when it was a premium game. Following its transition to free-to-play in 2022, it saw an incredible influx of 31 million new players right away, reaching a total of 85 million players by May 2024. And as for The Sims 5, there are currently no plans in the works… Plum!
