Marvel Studios has unveiled the first trailer for "The Fantastic Four: First Steps," offering fans an exciting glimpse into what is poised to be one of the most anticipated superhero films of 2025. The trailer showcases the iconic team—Mr. Fantastic, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and The Thing—alongside the formidable villain, Galactus. Set in a 1960s retro-futuristic world, the trailer opens with a dinner scene at the Baxter Building, hinting at an epic battle looming over New York.

The trailer features Ben Grimm's transformation into The Thing and introduces the team's robot companion, H.E.R.B.I.E., both seen engaging in a light-hearted cooking moment. We also catch brief scenes of Sue Storm using her invisibility powers and Johnny Storm soaring as the Human Torch. However, Reed Richards' stretchy abilities are notably absent from this initial teaser.

Adding to the intrigue, the trailer provides a fleeting glimpse of John Malkovich, rumored to be portraying Ivan Kragoff, also known as the Red Ghost. The first trailer was premiered at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama, where stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach mingled with enthusiastic fans.

Scheduled for release on July 25, 2025, "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" also features Ralph Ineson as Galactus and Julia Garner as Silver Surfer. The cast is rounded out by Paul Walter Hauser, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles. The film is directed by Matt Shakman and produced by Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige.

Here’s the official synopsis for "The Fantastic Four: First Steps":

Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family — Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.

Speculation abounds that Robert Downey Jr. might reprise a role in the MCU, possibly as the iconic villain Doctor Doom, either within "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" or hinted at in a future scene. Kevin Feige has confirmed the Fantastic Four's involvement in upcoming films "Avengers: Doomsday" and "Avengers: Secret Wars."
