God of War Ragnarok 20th Anniversary Update: Patch 06.02 Details Dark Odyssey Collection

Celebrate the 20th anniversary of the iconic God of War franchise with the latest update for God of War Ragnarök, version 06.02. This patch introduces the Dark Odyssey Collection, a tribute to the series that brings a host of new cosmetic options for Kratos, Atreus, and Freya, along with revamped appearances for all of Kratos' godly weaponry.

Santa Monica Studio has released the full patch notes, detailing the exciting content available in this update. The Dark Odyssey Collection is a free bundle that includes the Dark Odyssey armor set and appearance for Kratos, companion armor for Atreus and Freya, and striking new appearances for the Leviathan Axe, Blades of Chaos, Draupnir Spear, and a variety of shields. Each weapon's appearance is tailored for its fully upgraded version, ensuring that only players who have reached that level of mastery can enjoy these exclusive looks.

A significant addition to this update is the "Edit Appearance" feature, allowing players to customize their gear's look without affecting its abilities and skills. This option lets you tailor Kratos' appearance to your preference, making it easier to enjoy the game on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, or PC, whether you're new to the saga or returning for another epic journey.

While the Dark Odyssey Collection has been warmly received, some fans had hoped for more substantial celebrations, such as modern remasters of the original God of War trilogy. Although no such plans have been announced, the update, along with new merchandise and vinyl releases, shows Sony's commitment to keeping the God of War community engaged and entertained.
