Navigating Hyper Light Breaker's sprawling, Synthwave-infused Overgrowth can be challenging. Fortunately, the game features a Hoverboard, accessible from the outset, significantly boosting traversal speed. While not explicitly explained, mastering the Hoverboard is key to efficient exploration. It essentially acts as a sprint function, accelerating your movement while gradually depleting your Energy. This guide details its usage and unique capabilities.

How To Summon A Hoverboard in Hyper Light Breaker

Activating the Hoverboard is straightforward: hold down the Dodge button. Your character will dash forward and automatically mount the Hoverboard as long as you maintain the Dodge input.

Hoverboard control is intuitive. The left analog stick controls direction; tilting it leans the Hoverboard, initiating a turn. Turning responsiveness varies with speed; slower speeds allow for tighter maneuvers. Release the Dodge button to dismount. The Hoverboard will also automatically deactivate if your Energy is depleted.

Your current Energy level is displayed beside your Breaker's companion while using the Hoverboard (or Glider). Monitor your Energy; dismount briefly to allow regeneration before it runs out to avoid unexpected dismounts.

Hoverboard Movement Techniques & Applications

While lacking trick or attack functionality, the Hoverboard offers valuable attributes: it's amphibious! Traverse water without interruption; its performance remains consistent on both land and water. Note that you cannot summon the Hoverboard underwater; you must already be riding it to cross water seamlessly.

While riding, holding the Jump button initiates a crouch, useful for precise jump timing, though it doesn't enhance speed or jump height. This controlled approach aids in navigating challenging gaps despite the lack of a double-jump capability while on the Hoverboard.
