Playing cricket in a tight alley is often considered more fun than on a traditional field, especially in India. An indie Indian studio, 5th Ocean Studios, has launched their latest cricket game, Gully Gangs: Street Cricket, into Open Beta on Android. This game brings the excitement of street cricket to your mobile device.
Gully Gangs: Street Cricket offers a unique 4v4 multiplayer experience set in the narrow alleys, or "gullies," of India. This is the first-ever 4v4 street cricket game, where you can catch balls from rooftops, navigate around scooters, and even deal with nosy uncles who might yell at you for breaking windows. The fun doesn't stop there; you can also enjoy 1v1 matches.
The game allows you to perform power moves and communicate with your team through voice chat. You can talk, sledge, drop emojis during matches, and even execute some cunning tricks. The settings are authentic Indian neighborhoods, complete with live action around you, playing with broken stumps, makeshift pitches, and unpredictable bounces off uneven walls.
Gully Gangs: Street Cricket also offers extensive customization options. You can create your gang, dress them in funky outfits, and unlock various skins to personalize your team.
5th Ocean Studios is planning numerous updates for Gully Gangs: Street Cricket, including new street maps, fresh outfits, regular events, clan wars, and even an esports mode in the future. The game will feature leaderboards, daily and weekly challenges, and exciting gang vs. gang matchups.
Currently available only on Android, the studio is working on bringing the game to iOS and Steam as well. Full controller support and cross-platform features are on the roadmap. If you're interested in trying it out, you can download Gully Gangs: Street Cricket from the Google Play Store.
