Hades 2's "Olympic Update" Ascends with New Content!
Supergiant Games' Hades 2 has received its first major content update, aptly titled "The Olympic Update." This substantial patch introduces a wealth of new features, significantly expanding the already impressive roguelike experience.
The centerpiece of the update is the addition of Mount Olympus, a breathtaking new region to explore and conquer. Players will encounter two new allies, forging alliances and earning their favor along the way. Mastering the new weapon, Xinth – the Black Coat, a Nocturnal Arm – will be crucial to survival. Two new animal companions are also available to bond with, adding another layer of strategic depth. The Crossroads have been revitalized with dozens of new cosmetic items, allowing for personalized customization.
Beyond the new region and companions, the update boasts expanded story content, including hours of new dialogue, further enriching the narrative. Navigation between regions has been enhanced with a new world map presentation. Mac users can now enjoy native support on Apple M1 chips and later.
Significant improvements have also been made to existing elements. Melinoe, a key character, receives a gameplay overhaul, including a faster and more responsive dash and adjusted abilities. Enemies have also undergone adjustments, increasing the challenge and providing a more dynamic combat experience. Specific changes include reworks to Chronos, Eris, Infernal Beast, Polyphemus, Charybdis, and Headmistress Hecate, along with alterations to various ranged attackers.
The Olympic Update delivers a substantial amount of new content and refinements, bolstering Hades 2's already impressive replayability. With the addition of Olympus and the numerous gameplay tweaks, the game promises even more hours of thrilling action and compelling storytelling. The full release of Hades 2, including console versions, is anticipated for next year.
