"Lanterns" is shaping up to be a groundbreaking detective drama, drawing inspiration from acclaimed series like "True Detective" and "Slow Horses." In the show, Chandler's Hal Jordan teams up with Pierre's John Stewart to unravel a murder mystery that spirals into an even darker enigma. This series is a confirmed part of James Gunn's expansive DC universe, which also encompasses "Creature Commando" and the forthcoming films "Superman" and "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow."

The creative minds behind "Lanterns" include Damon Lindelof, known for his work on "Lost," alongside Chris Mundy and Tom King. They aim to deliver a series with a darker tone, which Gunn describes as "very grounded, very believable, very real. The kind of things that you would never think that would be the truth about a Green Lanterns television series."
