The LEGO Krusty Burger set is a testament to the "Adults Welcome" philosophy that LEGO has embraced in recent years. Designed with fans of The Simpsons in mind, this exclusive offering from the LEGO Store combines an accessible building experience with a richly detailed final model—a fully equipped fast-food restaurant filled with nods to iconic episodes. The set includes seven classic minifigures: Homer Simpson, Bart Simpson, Lisa Simpson, Farmer Krusty the Clown, Sideshow Bob, the Squeaky Voiced Teen, and Officer Lou.
Release Date: June 1 for LEGO Insiders, June 4 for general availability

When you think about Springfield's most recognizable landmarks, the first that come to mind are the Simpson family home, Moe’s Tavern, and the Kwik-E-Mart. While both the house and the Kwik-E-Mart already have LEGO counterparts, LEGO opted to bring the Krusty Burger to life instead of Moe’s Tavern.

Perhaps the team avoided Moe’s due to its more adult themes. However, while Moe’s has a well-established layout ingrained in fans’ memories, the Krusty Burger lacks such a defined visual identity. Though it appears across multiple episodes and even in The Simpsons Movie, its generic, chain-like design is part of what makes it memorable—its very blandness is the joke.
LEGO designer Ann Healy drew inspiration from many episodes throughout the show’s run to create the definitive version of the Krusty Burger. In our exclusive interview with her, she noted that “Coming to Homerica” (Season 20, Episode 21) and “I’m Spelling as Fast as I Can” (Season 14, Episode 12) were key references.
You start by constructing Homer’s car adorned with Krusty decorations, as seen in “Homie the Clown” (Season 6, Episode 15)—a nod that will delight longtime fans. There's also a poster referencing the Krusty Burglar, whom Homer nearly attacks in that same episode for stealing burgers. One of the cash registers bears the number $6.15, a clever callback to the season and episode number.
Another register displays $847.63—the amount Maggie scanned during the original show intro. This figure once represented the average monthly cost of raising a child in the U.S. You’ll also find promotional posters for items like the Ribwich and the Mother Nature Burger. The drive-thru order screen lists a demand for 700 Krusty Burgers, a reference to “Boy-Scoutz ‘n the Hood” (Season 5, Episode 8), where Krusty constructs a burger on an oil rig.
The interior layout is thoughtfully designed. It features a dining area complete with a Krusty’s Kidz Zone ball pit, where many scenes from the show have taken place. Behind the counter lies a fully realized employee section, including a fryer station, a broken ice cream machine, an employee restroom, and a drive-thru window where staff can take orders and fill drinks. Even the prep table holds stacked Krusty Burgers—an elegant example of LEGO’s minimalist storytelling, using just a few pieces to evoke a vivid scene.
Outside, the drive-thru ordering station sits around the corner from the pickup window—a small but thoughtful detail that gives the set a realistic workflow and architectural logic beyond just being a collection of references.
The LEGO Krusty Burger is officially recommended for ages 18+, placing it among LEGO’s growing lineup of sets aimed at adults. In the past, age ratings primarily indicated build complexity. But as LEGO has expanded into the adult market, these ratings now reflect thematic appeal as much as technical challenge.
This set is perfect for Gen-X and Millennial fans—offering a nostalgic yet mature building experience. It’s easy enough for those who may not have touched LEGO in years, yet detailed and thematically rich enough to satisfy long-time Simpsons enthusiasts.
It’s been a decade since LEGO released a full-scale Simpsons set—the iconic Simpson house launched in 2014, followed by the Kwik-E-Mart in 2015. That gap may have allowed LEGO to cultivate the kind of popularity among adults that could support regular releases, much like their Lord of the Rings line. Here's hoping for more sets like this—and yes, we’re still waiting for Moe’s Tavern.
