In Dynasty Warriors: Origins, your rank directly impacts your battlefield success. Facing formidable foes like Lu Bu requires a high rank, achieved through more than just sheer combat prowess. This guide details the path to rank ascension.
Your rank acts as your in-game level. Starting at rank one, you progress by participating in battles. However, simply defeating enemies isn't enough. Rank progression is intrinsically linked to weapon proficiency.
Initially, you wield a single level 1 sword. Proficiency increases with combat, but it's not solely about enemy kills. Mastering Battle Arts (special abilities), employing diverse combo attacks (beyond basic three- or four-hit sequences), and experimenting with different combat styles all contribute to weapon proficiency.
Increased weapon proficiency directly translates to rank increases. Each rank-up boosts health, attack power, defense, and unlocks additional perks. These perks include increased Bravery (allowing more Battle Art usage) and access to new skill trees for further stat enhancement.
While starting with a sword, nine distinct weapon types await discovery throughout your journey through ancient China. Mastering all nine is key to achieving maximum rank. Each weapon possesses unique properties and tactical advantages; feel free to switch weapons mid-battle to maximize experience gains and adapt to changing circumstances. Experimentation is rewarded!
Dynasty Warriors: Origins is available now on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
