Infinity Nikki Fans Protest: Threaten Uninstall Over Update 1.5 Changes

Infinity Nikki and its multiplayer-focused 1.5 update have recently launched on Steam, but the release has been overshadowed by a series of issues that have sparked significant controversy among the game's community.

Infold Games' fashionable dress-up adventure, which was previously exclusive to the Epic Game Store, made its debut on Valve's platform amidst much anticipation. However, the excitement quickly turned into frustration due to a range of technical problems, including game crashes and instability that prevented many players from even launching the game. These issues, while not uncommon at game launches, were compounded by unexpected changes to the game's design and monetization strategies.

The introduction of two new five-star outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, each requiring 11 pieces to complete, has been a particular point of contention. This means players may need up to 220 pulls to fully collect these sets, a significant increase over previous expectations and without prior notice. This has led to fears that future outfit requirements might escalate even further.

Adding to the confusion, Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks, causing ripples of discontent among the player base. In response, members of the Infinity Nikki community, particularly from China, took to social media platforms like RedNote to voice their concerns, leading to a widespread movement urging players to boycott the game on Steam, leave negative reviews, and uninstall it across all platforms.

Reddit user kiaxxl emphasized the importance of holding back on pulls to demonstrate the community's desire for the game to remain fun and fair. "For gacha games, tracking how successful a new batch of content is usually measured on the first few days. Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players," they noted in a call-to-action post.

The backlash has had a tangible impact, with Infinity Nikki currently holding a "Mixed" rating on Steam as players warn potential newcomers to steer clear until their concerns are addressed. In response, Infold issued an apology letter across its official channels, acknowledging the technical issues and promising to improve communication about future changes.

In the apology, Infold expressed gratitude for the community's support and outlined plans to revert Mira Crown to end on May 16, kick off the next season the same day, and provide compensation in the form of 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds. While this move was seen as a positive step, many players remain unsatisfied, particularly with the decision to maintain the 11-piece requirement for new outfits.

Social media reactions, like those from Denise92 (@nikkie92denise), highlighted ongoing frustrations with the game's drop rates and the rapid release of new banners, calling for adjustments to make the game more enjoyable.

Despite the partial victories, some community members, such as Reddit user EdensAsmr, continue to urge sustained pressure to prevent future updates from following the same pattern. "Imagine if every new major update has two 11-piece 5-star banners? That means you have to save even more to be able to handle it, and 70-80 pulls per patch will **not** cut it," they warned.

Infinity Nikki Update 1.5 is now live, and players can access detailed information in the Infinity Nikki 1.5 Bubble Season hub. The update offers 100 free pulls and new redeemable codes for rewards like Resonance Crystals and Diamonds. For those exploring the new Sea of Stars area, the Infinity Nikki interactive map provides useful checklists to track progress.
