There Will Be "Sort Of" A Sex Feature

As inZOI gears up for its early access release, fans are eager to understand the game's features, especially those concerning sex and nudity. In a live segment on inZOI's official Discord channel titled "Ask Me (almost) Anything," three team leads, with translations provided by Assistant Director Joel Lee, addressed these queries.

The discussion covered various aspects of the game's realism, including baby care, body size, and driving. However, the topic of explicit content, specifically sex and nudity, was a focal point. Lee aimed to provide a safe-for-work response, stating, "Our answer is: sort of. There is a feature in the game that you obviously know what's happening, the male Zoi and the female Zoi are together, likely in bed, with the intention of creating babies. How visually apparent is that? That's where you have to go to your imagination. What you're seeing is not what you're seeing; you have to assume that's what's happening. Is that clear enough for everyone? It's there. Sort of. Maybe not to the level that everyone would have been expecting."

While the statement leaves some ambiguity, it confirms that a sex feature will be part of the game, though the animations and execution will be tailored to suit a broader audience. Given inZOI's focus on realism, fans can anticipate a more nuanced approach compared to the more whimsical style seen in games like The Sims.

Blurring Effects Don’t Work Well With inZOI

Curious players inquired about why Zois shower with their towels on. The developers explained that pixelated blurring effects, which work well in cartoony games like The Sims, clash with inZOI's more realistic art style. These effects inadvertently appeared more suggestive than intended. Moreover, during testing, a bug allowed players to see Zois fully naked in the mirror, an issue the developers have since addressed.

Making inZOI Available to All

Despite the focus on sex and nudity, inZOI has been rated T for Teen by the ESRB, akin to The Sims 4. This rating ensures the game remains accessible to a wide audience while maintaining a safe-for-work environment. Lee emphasized the team's goal to create a game that appeals to diverse age groups, stating, "We wanted to provide a game that was widely available to as many age groups as possible."

The developers have scheduled a live stream showcase on March 19, 2025, at 01:00 UTC, which will be available on inZOI's official YouTube and Twitch channels. This event will cover early access pricing, DLC, the game's developmental roadmap, and respond to additional fan questions.
