King of Fighters ALLSTAR to End Service in October 2024

Netmarble has announced the unexpected closure of its mobile beat 'em up ARPG, King of Fighters ALLSTAR, on October 30th, 2024. In-app purchases have already been disabled.

The game, which has been running for over six years, boasts numerous collaborations with prominent fighting game franchises. Its longevity, built upon the foundation of SNK's King of Fighters series, makes this closure surprising to many.

According to the developer's announcement, a contributing factor to the shutdown is the depletion of characters available for adaptation from the KoF roster. While likely not the sole reason, this offers some insight into the decision-making process.
