Lies of P director Ji-Won Choi recently treated fans to a celebratory message, offering both a thank you and exciting hints about the game's future. The message acts as a love letter to the community while simultaneously teasing upcoming DLC and a sequel for the steampunk Pinocchio-inspired Soulslike.
A year after Lies of P's release, developer NEOWIZ shared a heartfelt message from director Choi, expressing gratitude for fan support and revealing details about the upcoming DLC. The team, Choi explained, worked diligently through Korea's summer heat to bring this expansion to life. He highlighted that fan enthusiasm fuels their dedication. The DLC promises to build upon the original game's strengths while addressing previous issues.
Choi stated the goal for both the DLC and the sequel is to refine existing successes and improve areas needing development. Beyond thanking the fans, he also acknowledged the contributions of Team NOUGH and ROUND8 Studio.
The most significant reveal was the inclusion of new concept art and music. The artwork depicts P in a snowy, desolate location, gazing at a lighthouse—a scene promising further challenges and intrigue.
The shared musical piece, while labeled "new," is actually a 2022 composition by "onoken." However, NEOWIZ owns the rights to both the original and the new arrangement. The accompanying music video visually aligns with the Lies of P aesthetic. While a precise release date remains unannounced, NEOWIZ's Q1 2024 Earnings Results indicate a launch sometime during the second half of 2024. This release will coincide with four other NEOWIZ titles:
⚫︎ The Legend of Heroes: Gagharv Trilogy
⚫︎ Cats & Soup: Malang Town
⚫︎ Cats & Soup: Magic Recipe
⚫︎ Project IG
Last November, an eight-minute video showcased early DLC concept art, revealing two distinct environments: a large industrial facility and a wrecked ship.
While specifics are still under wraps, Choi assures fans that their anticipation will be rewarded. The DLC serves as merely the prelude to a full-fledged sequel currently in development.
