"Marvel Rivals Bans Console Players Using Keyboard and Mouse"

NetEase Games has officially announced that players using keyboard and mouse adapters on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles while playing Marvel Rivals will face account suspension. The use of such devices, including the XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper adapters, is seen as a breach of the game's rules, as they enable players to gain an unfair edge through enhanced control sensitivity and retained aiming assistance. These adapters simulate gamepad inputs while allowing the use of a keyboard and mouse, which significantly impacts competitive play, particularly when auto-targeting is enabled.

NetEase Games stated, "We define adapters as devices or programs that emulate gamepad control using a keyboard and mouse. This creates an imbalance in the game, especially in competitive modes." To enforce this rule, the company has developed tools that can accurately detect the use of these adapters, leading to immediate account blocks upon detection of violations.

In related news, it has been observed that higher frame rates (FPS) in Marvel Rivals can lead to increased ping. While this may not be highly noticeable with low ping, a sudden jump to 150 ms can severely disrupt gameplay if your usual ping is around 90 ms. This issue appears to be linked to frame rate. As a temporary solution, players are advised to wait for an official patch and experiment with the optimal FPS-to-ping ratio. Currently, maintaining an FPS of around 90 is suggested, which might seem low for fans of games like Counter-Strike 2 but is recommended for Marvel Rivals at this time.
