Marvel Rivals is ramping up the excitement in its first season with a plethora of new content, including the addition of the Fantastic Four heroes and a variety of cosmetics. A significant highlight is the introduction of several new maps themed around Marvel’s iconic New York. Here's a detailed look at every new map in Marvel Rivals Season 1.
Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown was the first new map to be introduced in Marvel Rivals Season 1, making its debut at the season's launch. This map is designed specifically for the game's payload-style mode, known as Convoy. Players will engage in either escorting or stopping a moving vehicle across the map. Midtown is the third Convoy map available in Rivals, joining Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path and Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands.
Set under the eerie glow of Dracula’s Blood Moon, Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown offers a darkened rendition of New York City. The map includes several Points of Interest, blending iconic locations from the Marvel Universe with real-world Midtown Manhattan landmarks such as:
The Empire of Eternal Night version of Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Santorum was added to Marvel Rivals in Season 1. This map is uniquely dedicated to the Doom Match mode, a free-for-all deathmatch where players compete to survive and eliminate others. At the end of the match, those in the top half of the leaderboard earn wins, and the highest scorer is awarded MVP.
The Sanctum Santorum map is a beautifully detailed representation of Doctor Strange’s mystical mansion, which has been his home and headquarters since its introduction in a 1963 comic. It's most notable for its appearances in the MCU. In Marvel Rivals, the Sanctum Santorum serves as Earth’s supernatural defense hub, complete with hidden secrets, supernatural rooms with impossible ceilings, portals, and an infinite staircase. Players can even interact with Bats The Ghost Dog on this map.
Scheduled for release in the latter half of Marvel Rivals Season 1, the Central Park map remains shrouded in mystery. Located in Manhattan's real-world setting between the Upper West Side and Upper East Side, Central Park has been a staple in various Marvel properties, most recently featured in the 2023 Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 video game.
In Marvel Rivals, the Central Park map is expected to focus on a stylized version of Belvedere Castle, a Gothic architectural gem situated at one of the park's highest points. This setting aligns perfectly with the Empire of Eternal Night theme and may serve as a hideout for Dracula within the game's New York City.
These are all the new maps being added to Marvel Rivals in its exciting first season, promising to enhance the gameplay experience with their unique themes and settings.
