Facing the Congalala requires constant movement due to its large size and agile attacks. Avoid positioning yourself directly in front or behind it, as these are the primary zones for its potent breath attacks. The beast can perform powerful smashes with its hands, whip its tail around, and utilize ranged breath attacks.
Focus your attacks on the breakable parts for maximum damage. The forelegs are the easiest targets, often leaving the Congalala vulnerable for a few seconds after an attack. For the head, tail, and rear, wait for the beast to consume a mushroom, which is clearly visible, and then strike when it expels gas from its front or rear. If you avoid these attacks, you can safely hit these vulnerable spots.
If you get caught in its fumes, use deodorant or roll through water to neutralize the effects. Utilize the wounds you cause to activate Focus Mode and execute Focus Strikes, which can deal significant damage and interrupt the Congalala's attacks, particularly its breath attacks or ground smashes.

Capturing the Congalala follows a similar process to other monsters in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. Wait for the skull icon to appear on the minimap next to the monster and listen for cues from your character or other hunters indicating that the Congalala is near defeat.
Track the monster until it attempts to rest and recover. At this point, set up either a Shock or Pitfall Trap near its resting spot. Wake the Congalala and lure it into the trap, then throw 2 to 3 Tranq Bombs to secure the capture.
