With the arrival of Captain America: Brave New World, it's time to delve once again into the expansive Marvel Cinematic Universe, which now boasts an impressive collection of 35 movies. But which MCU film holds the top spot in your heart? Do you have a soft spot for the early origin stories like Iron Man, or do the thrilling team-ups that concluded the Infinity Saga resonate more with you? Share your thoughts using our interactive tier list tool below.
With a vast array of movies to choose from, remember that this list is focused solely on entries from Kevin Feige's MCU empire, excluding any Sony Marvel films (sorry, X-Men fans—except for Wolverine, of course). Here’s a look at my personal tier list, based entirely on my enjoyment over the years:
Unfortunately, Captain America: Brave New World didn’t meet my expectations, landing in the D tier due to what might be the MCU’s clunkiest script to date. As for the rest of the bottom tier, my placement of 2024's Deadpool & Wolverine may raise some eyebrows, but it simply didn't resonate with me. You can read my detailed thoughts on this here. While it’s not the worst the MCU has to offer, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania easily earns its place at the bottom of the D tier.
On the other hand, the upper echelons are reserved for the five films I consider truly exceptional. Both Captain America: Civil War and Winter Soldier are unequivocal S-tier entries for me, perfectly capturing the emotional heart of the MCU and the thrill of paranoid espionage, respectively. Thor: Ragnarok stands out as one of the funniest comedies of the past decade, while Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame delivered a spectacular and satisfying conclusion to the saga's most crucial chapter.
If you disagree with my rankings, perhaps believing that No Way Home is the pinnacle of the Tom Holland Spider-Man trilogy, or that Black Panther deserves an S-tier spot, why not create your own tier list? You can rank all the MCU movies and compare your S, A, B, C, and D tiers with the entire IGN community.
