Capcom's Monster Hunter Wilds introduces a new character customization feature allowing players to edit their hunter and Palico appearances. While the initial edit is free, subsequent changes require purchasing Character Edit Vouchers. These vouchers are sold in packs of three for $6, or a combined pack for both characters for $10. Without vouchers, players are limited to modifying hairstyles, eyebrow color, makeup, and clothing, excluding core facial feature alterations.

This monetization model, unannounced prior to the game's launch, was revealed last week via Capcom's social media. Despite controversy surrounding this and reported performance issues, Monster Hunter Wilds achieved remarkable success, exceeding 1.3 million concurrent players on Steam at launch.
Capcom has yet to respond to player feedback concerning this paid customization system. The community expresses significant dissatisfaction, drawing unfavorable comparisons to previous series installments where appearance changes were either free or obtainable via in-game currency. Many fans view this as a detrimental alteration to a core franchise element.
