Monster Hunter Wilds is gearing up for a second Open Beta, offering another chance to experience the thrill of the hunt! This expanded beta includes new features and content, perfect for both returning and first-time players. Read on for details on how to participate.
Missed the first Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta? Don't despair! A second Open Beta Test is scheduled for the first two weeks of February. Following the success of the initial beta, this second phase provides another opportunity to test the game before its official launch on February 28th. The announcement was made by producer Ryozo Tsujimoto via the official Monster Hunter YouTube channel.
The Open Beta will run in two sessions: February 6th-9th and February 13th-16th. Available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, this beta introduces exciting new content, including the formidable Gypceros, a familiar foe from previous Monster Hunter titles.
Character data from the first beta is transferable to this phase and, subsequently, the full game. However, progress won't carry over. As a thank you for participating, beta testers will receive in-game rewards: a decorative Stuffed Felyne Teddy for your weapon or Seikret, plus a bonus item pack to aid early-game progression.
Tsujimoto explained the decision for a second beta, stating, "We’ve heard your feedback about missing the first beta or wanting another chance to play, hence this second phase." He also confirmed the team's continued dedication to refining the full game. While a pre-launch community update detailed upcoming improvements, these changes won't be included in this beta.
Monster Hunter Wilds launches on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on February 28th, 2025. Get ready to hunt!
