The second free title update for Monster Hunter: Wilds is set to launch on June 30, as confirmed during today’s Capcom Spotlight stream. This follows earlier leaks that hinted at the same date, and now it's official—mark your calendars.
This update introduces two exciting new hunts: the return of Seregios, originally from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, and the long-awaited Lagiacrus, a fan-favorite from Monster Hunter Tri. Known for its fierce underwater agility and legendary rivalry with Rathalos, Lagiacrus makes a thrilling comeback. While most of the battle will take place on land—since swimming combat remains limited in Wilds—players can still expect unique underwater segments featuring special interactions that nod to the monster’s aquatic roots.
Beyond the new monsters, the June 30 update packs a robust suite of additions. Players will finally gain access to layered weapons, allowing for deeper customization and visual variety. The update also brings enhanced photo mode settings, giving hunters more creative control over their in-game snapshots. You’ll now be able to swap handlers, adding a fresh dynamic to your journey, along with a fun new Fender guitar collaboration gesture. A new free gesture set will be available, plus additional paid cosmetic items and various new rewards and equipment options.
Looking ahead, the Festival of Accord: Flamefete seasonal event kicks off on July 23 and runs through August 6, offering limited-time gear and exclusive in-game perks. Then, on July 30, the formidable Arch-tempered Uth Duna arrives, bringing a high-stakes challenge quest and a suite of stunning equipment rewards that are as rewarding to earn as they are to show off.
At launch, we awarded Monster Hunter: Wilds an 8, praising its refined gameplay and exhilarating combat while noting its reduced difficulty compared to past entries. As with the first update, this content is completely free for all players who own the game and will go live in just four days—June 30.
