Netmarble's popular action RPG, King of Fighters ALLSTAR, is officially shutting down on October 30th, 2024. This news, recently announced on Netmarble's forums, marks the end of over six years of intense fighting game action and crossovers.
The in-game store has already closed as of June 26th, 2024, ending the ability to purchase in-game currency. While the game enjoyed positive reviews and millions of downloads, citing reasons for its closure, the developers hinted at a potential shortage of characters to adapt from the original King of Fighters series. However, this is likely only part of the story, with other contributing factors remaining undisclosed.
Recent optimization issues and game crashes may have also played a role in the decision. Despite these challenges, the game maintained a dedicated player base who enjoyed its impressive animations and PvP battles.
Players still have approximately four months to experience King of Fighters ALLSTAR before the servers go offline. This is a final opportunity to enjoy the legendary fighters and matches before the game's closure. The game is available on the Google Play Store.
