Hotta Studios' upcoming open-world RPG, Neverness to Everness, is gearing up for its first closed beta test. Unfortunately, this initial test will be exclusively available to players in mainland China.
Gematsu recently highlighted new lore details for the game, likely unsurprising to those who've seen the impressive trailers showcasing the city of Eibon (see below). The new information sheds light on the game's slightly comedic narrative and the intriguing blend of the bizarre and ordinary within the world of Hetherau.
Hotta Studios, a subsidiary of Perfect World (creators of the successful Tower of Fantasy), is entering a competitive 3D RPG market increasingly focused on urban settings. However, Neverness to Everness aims to stand out.
One key differentiator is the inclusion of open-world driving! Players can cruise the city streets at high speeds, customizing and upgrading a range of vehicles. Be warned though, collisions are realistically impactful.
The game faces tough competition upon release, notably from MiHoYo's Zenless Zone Zero and NetEase's Ananta (formerly Project Mugen), both setting a high bar for mobile 3D open-world RPGs.
