"Nintendo Switch 2 Preorders Begin April 9"

Nintendo has officially unveiled the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2, with preorders set to begin on April 9 in the United States and April 8 in the UK. Mark your calendars for the launch date, June 5, 2025, when the console will hit the market at a price of $449.99.

For fans of the iconic racing franchise, there's a special Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle available at a suggested retail price of $499.99 in the US. This bundle includes the system and a download code for Mario Kart World, ready for you on launch day. If you prefer to buy Mario Kart World separately, it will be available at Nintendo's recommended retail price of $79.99.

You can also register your interest with Nintendo to be notified about preorders for the Nintendo Switch 2 and its accessories at My Nintendo Store. Invitations to purchase will be sent out via email on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority will be given to users who have a 12-month Nintendo Switch Online membership and have logged at least 50 gameplay hours as of April 2, 2025. After priority users, remaining eligible registrants will be considered. Note that invitations are non-transferable and valid for 72 hours. Purchases are limited to one system and one of each accessory per account. Major retailers are expected to open preorders on April 9, 2025, as well.
