If you’re playing as an Archer in Rune Slayer, congratulations—you’ve chosen one of the best (if not the best) classes in the game. To help you reach peak performance, we’ve put together a comprehensive guide to ensure you excel as a sharpshooting adventurer. Let’s dive into the best Archer build in Rune Slayer.
[Table of Contents]
If you’re a seasoned Archer, feel free to skip this section. However, if you’re just starting out, keep reading. As an Archer, your primary strength lies in staying a few meters away from enemies and letting your arrows do the talking. While Archers pack a punch, they aren’t built to absorb damage.

Archers wear Medium armor, which offers a balanced defense compared to Light and Heavy armor. Unlike Magicians or Priests wearing Light armor, Archers lack protective spells or the resilience of Heavy armor. Instead, they depend on teammates and Pets to handle threats.
Tamed Pets are the Archers’ secret weapon. Although your pet options are limited initially, Archers eventually gain access to pets unavailable to other classes, making them one of the most powerful classes in the game.
At Level 30, Archers, like all other classes in Rune Slayer, choose one subclass. Archers can specialize as either a Sharpshooter or a Beast Tamer. We strongly recommend choosing Beast Tamer upon reaching Level 30.

Currently, there’s absolutely no reason to choose Sharpshooter. Firing multiple arrows sounds cool, but you’d miss out on the biggest perk of Beast Tamer: the Alpha Predator passive ability. This ability allows you to tame beasts other classes can’t, such as Bears, Adult Spiders, Crocodiles, and especially Mud Crabs. Thanks to their superior pets, Beast Tamers are incredibly resilient and powerful, capable of soloing many group activities.
As you approach max level, the Elder set paired with a few key items is a solid start. For your weapon, aim for the Troll Tusk Bow, which sometimes drops from Hill Trolls.

**Armor Name** | **Stats** | **Requirements** |
Elder Mask | Armor: 235 +5 Spirit +10 Agility | 2x Elder Greatwood 2x Ashwood Log |
Elder Chest | Armor: 470 +10 Spirit +20 Agility | 1 x Elder Vine 3 x Elder Greatwood 2 x Demon Hide |
Elder Boots | Armor: 235 +5 Spirit +10 Agility | 2x Elder Greatwood 2x Demon Hide |
Thieves Ring | +10 Agility | Buy from Schoen The Mage for 5 Silver in Wayshire |
Elder Ring | +10% Health Regeneration | Drops from Elder Treant |
Rat Cape | Armor: 35 +12 Agility +2% Crit Chance | 15x Rat Skin 4x Medium Leather |
You can craft the entire set using parts from the Elder Treant raid boss. Don’t let its size intimidate you. Gather a group (or join a Discord guild) and take down the massive tree. As an Archer, you should have little trouble dealing damage and surviving, especially with a strong Beast Tamer pet.
**Weapon Name** | **Stats** | **Requirements** |
Troll Tusk Bow | Physical Damage: 12 +12 Agility +1 Stamina +5% Physical Pierce | A random loot drop from the Hill Troll |
Once you hit max level and want to maximize your Archer build, join the Demon Sect. Start killing players of the opposite faction to increase your standing with the Demon Sect. This will grant you access to the Stalker armor set. Save up plenty of gold, as the armor isn’t cheap. The rest of your gear is relatively easy to obtain.
