Point-And-Click Mystery Game The Darkside Detective Is Now Out, Along With Its Sequel A Fumble in the Dark

Akupara Games has been prolific lately, releasing several titles recently. Following their deck-building game, Zoeti, comes the puzzle adventure, The Darkside Detective, and its sequel, The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark (both available now!).

A Glimpse into the Darkside Detective Universe

The game opens on a gloomy, fog-laden night in Twin Lakes, a city where the strange, supernatural, and utterly absurd are commonplace. Players control Detective Francis McQueen and his partner, the endearingly clumsy Officer Patrick Dooley, as they navigate the underfunded Darkside Division of the Twin Lakes Police Department.

This point-and-click adventure features nine quirky cases, ranging from time-travel mysteries and tentacled horrors to carnival secrets and zombie mobsters. The humor is consistently sharp and witty. Experience it yourself with the trailer below!

Ready to Investigate?

The Darkside Detective is a delightful blend of pop culture references, drawing inspiration from classic horror films, sci-fi series, and buddy cop movies. Case titles alone hint at the playful tone: "Malice in Wonderland," "Tome Alone," "Disorient Express," "Police Farce," "Don of the Dead," "Buy Hard," and "Baits Motel."

The game’s humor is a standout feature, infused into every pixel. The Darkside Detective is available on the Google Play Store for $6.99. A Fumble in the Dark can be played independently of the first game, also available on Google Play.
