As 2024 concludes, Niantic is celebrating the arrival of 2025 in Pokémon Go with a special New Year's event, followed by the Fidough Fetch event and the highly anticipated Sprigatito Community Day. Kicking off the new year is the Eggs-pedition Access, running throughout January as part of the Dual Destiny season. Available for $4.99, this access pass unlocks numerous benefits to enhance your Pokémon catching adventures until January 31st. This includes a significant boost to your gifting capabilities: increase your Gift storage to 40, open up to 50 Gifts daily, and collect 150 from Photo Discs. What's in Store for the Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 Event?

The Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 event runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While there aren't any new Pokémon, Shiny variants, or costumes this year, the event still offers plenty of festive fun.

Expect increased wild spawns of Jigglypuff (with a ribbon), Hoothoot (in a New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (in a party hat), all with boosted Shiny rates. Event bonuses include 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks displays.

Raids will feature a snowflake-wearing Pikachu in Tier One raids, and party-hat adorned Raticate and Wobbuffet in Tier Three raids, both with increased Shiny encounter chances. Themed Pokémon will also be available through Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases.
