As 2024 winds down, Pokémon Go enthusiasts can look forward to the return of the annual New Year's event, scheduled to take place from December 30th to January 1st, 2025. This festive celebration promises themed bonuses, unique Pokémon encounters, and a host of activities to help you start 2025 with a bang.

The excitement begins just a week earlier with the special Community Day event on December 21st and 22nd, where all past Community Day Pokémon make a grand return. Following this, dive into the New Year's festivities, where you can earn 2,025 XP for every Pokémon caught with an Excellent Throw. As you venture out, be sure to look up and enjoy the dazzling fireworks that will light up the skies, enhancing the holiday atmosphere with festive decorations all around.

A standout feature of the event is the increased appearance of themed Pokémon. Keep an eye out for Jigglypuff adorned with a ribbon, Hoothoot in a New Year's outfit, and Wurmple sporting a party hat. You might even be fortunate enough to encounter their Shiny versions during your adventures.

ytRaids are also getting into the holiday spirit. One-star raids will feature Pikachu donning a snowflake beanie, while three-star raids will challenge you with Raticate and Wobbuffet, both decked out in party hats. All three Pokémon will have boosted Shiny rates throughout the event period.

For those who enjoy tackling challenges, the event includes Field Research and Timed Research tasks that offer additional encounters. There's also a Paid Timed Research option available for $2, which grants exclusive rewards such as three Premium Battle Passes, three Lucky Eggs, 2,025 Stardust, and encounters with event-themed Pokémon.

Additionally, the Ultra Holiday Box is still available in the Pokémon GO Web Store for $4.99, offering a Pokémon Storage upgrade, an Item Bag upgrade, and 17 Rare Candies. And don't forget to grab some free rewards by redeeming Pokémon Go codes to enhance your festive gameplay experience.
