Fortnite Teases Live-Action Power Rangers Collaboration

Fortnite's next season will feature the legendary Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, as showcased in a newly released live-action-style trailer.

Shock 'N Awesome, the game's upcoming major season, arrives this week on August 7th, transforming the battle royale Island into a bug-infested battleground. (These creepy crawlies emerged from a tentacle remnant of a colossal Kraken-like creature that Superman defeated in last weekend's live event—though that backstory isn't essential to enjoy the chaos.)

The latest trailer depicts Fortnite's heroes struggling against swarms of relentless insects, until the Power Rangers arrive to turn the tide. Just when an enormous bug appears, the Dino Megazord joins the fight to truly save the day.

According to the trailer's description, the Red, Black, Pink, Yellow, and Blue Rangers will be available in Fortnite's in-game shop by mid-August, while the powerful Dino Megazord will be part of the new battle pass.

The battle pass also appears to include a new Spartan armor set from Microsoft's Halo series, a character with gun-equipped robotic arms, and an eye-patch-wearing humanoid panda—because, well, it's Fortnite.

Earlier today, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney dismissed a report claiming that the game's anticipated Disney collaboration was delayed by bureaucratic hurdles.
