HP's 2025 Omen Max 16 gaming laptop is now available for preorder. This powerhouse boasts cutting-edge components, including the upcoming Intel Core Ultra 9 HX-series processor and the GeForce RTX 5080 mobile GPU. Shipping is estimated to begin March 13th. The Omen Max 16 will be HP's flagship gaming laptop, complementing their existing Omen and Omen Transcend lines.

The launch edition features an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX CPU, prioritizing performance over the efficiency-focused Core Ultra 9 185H. The base configuration includes a 16" QHD+ 240Hz display, 32GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 1TB M.2 SSD. This represents a roughly $500 price advantage over similarly specced Razer Blade 16 laptops.
HP anticipates shipping the Omen Max 16 in early to mid-March. Given the RTX 50-series mobile GPUs are new, benchmarks are not yet available.
Razer's 2025 gaming laptops—the Blade 16 and Blade 18—are also available for preorder. These offer Intel and Ryzen processor options (depending on model) and RTX 5000-series mobile GPUs (RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5080, and RTX 5090). Preorders include bonus accessories.
Razer Blade laptops are renowned for their premium build quality, utilizing a unibody aluminum chassis and a proprietary cooling system featuring a vacuum-sealed, liquid-filled copper vapor chamber. This advanced engineering justifies their higher price point.
