According to Alessio Palumbo of Wccftech, some developers have even delayed game launches to coincide with the PS5 Pro's anticipated arrival.

Palumbo revealed a significant detail: "A developer, who chose to remain anonymous, spontaneously mentioned receiving the PS5 Pro's specifications and expressed confidence in Unreal Engine 5's significantly enhanced performance on the new hardware compared to the standard PS5."

This corroborates a report from Italian gaming site Multiplayer, which reported a developer delaying a game release to align with the PS5 Pro's launch. Palumbo added, "This isn't the same developer as the one Multiplayer mentioned. The studio I spoke with is not a major player, suggesting that a broad range of developers already possess the PS5 Pro's specifications."

Imminent PS5 Pro Release, Analyst Predicts

Further bolstering Palumbo's claims and the Gamescom 2024 developer insights, analyst William R. Aguilar hinted on X in July that Sony is likely to unveil the PS5 Pro later this year. Aguilar speculated that a September 2024 State of Play (unconfirmed) might be the platform for the announcement, suggesting Sony needs to act swiftly to avoid impacting current PS5 sales.

This timeline mirrors the PlayStation 4 Pro's 2016 release, announced September 7th and launched November 10th. Palumbo notes that if Sony follows a similar pattern, "an official announcement seems imminent."
