The trailer features an intense battle against a giant boss crab, showcasing the game's dynamic combat system. Ratatan supports online co-op gameplay for up to 4 players, allowing for thrilling multiplayer experiences. Players can command up to 100 characters in massive melee battles, adding depth and strategy to the gameplay.

Ratatan is crafted by the creative minds behind Patapon, including creator Hiroyuki Kotani and original musician Kemmei Adachi. The game's Kickstarter campaign, launched in 2023, has successfully reached its console launch stretch goal, ensuring its availability on various gaming platforms.

Closed Beta Begins on February 27, 2025

Ratatan is gearing up for its closed beta test, scheduled to commence on February 27, 2025. According to a recent post on their Kickstarter page, Ratatan Producer Kazuto Sakajiri shared insights into the game's progress and upcoming milestones.

The game has surpassed 100,000 wishlists on Steam and received positive feedback on the Ratatan Original Soundtrack Demo. However, it will not be featured in the upcoming Steam Next Fest, as the team is focusing on delivering an enhanced demo for the Steam Next festival in June.

Sakajiri outlined what players can expect from the closed beta. The initial build will include gameplay up to Stage 1, with Stages 2 and 3 being added progressively throughout the month-long test period. Details regarding the distribution of codes, start date, and time will be announced via Discord and X once confirmed.

Ratatan is slated for release in 2025 across multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. While an exact release date has yet to be announced, anticipation continues to build for this exciting new title.
