Rumor: Genshin Impact Leaks Popular Character\

Genshin Impact's Wriothesley Rumored for Version 5.4 Rerun After Year-Long Wait

A recent leak suggests Wriothesley, the Cryo Catalyst character, will finally receive his first rerun in Genshin Impact Version 5.4, over a year after his initial release in Version 4.1. This news comes amidst ongoing concerns regarding the game's banner scheduling, a challenge exacerbated by the vast roster of over 90 playable characters and limited rerun slots.

With a seemingly impossible task of providing yearly reruns for 43 limited 5-star characters given only 27 available banner slots (assuming one new 5-star per patch), the developers' attempts to mitigate this issue, such as the Chronicled Banner, are viewed by many as insufficient. Shenhe's extended wait time of over 600 days before her rerun highlights this ongoing problem. The introduction of triple banners remains a potential, albeit currently unconfirmed, long-term solution.

Wriothesley, a powerful Cryo hypercarry whose Burnmelt teams deliver substantial damage, has been unavailable since November 8, 2023. The leak, originating from Flying Flame, indicates his return in Version 5.4. However, it's crucial to approach this information cautiously, as Flying Flame's track record regarding Natlan leaks has been inconsistent.

Despite this uncertainty, the recent Spiral Abyss buff in Genshin Impact does align favorably with Wriothesley's playstyle, lending some credence to the rumor. Version 5.4 is also anticipated to introduce Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If both Mizuki and Wriothesley are featured on the Event Banners, the remaining spot is likely to be filled by either Furina or Venti, as they are the only Archons yet to receive sequential reruns. Version 5.4 is projected to launch on February 12, 2025.
