To achieve the best ending in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, completing specific tasks is essential, and one of these crucial tasks is saving Sam. Knowing where to find Sam during your journey can significantly impact your path to perfection.
As you near the conclusion of the main quest line, you'll discover that Sam is being held captive at Praguer’s Camp. Captured by Brabant, you'll have the opportunity to rescue him during the "Reckoning" quest. However, simply strolling into the camp isn't an option; you'll need to decide between stealth or violence to free him.
To move around the camp without arousing suspicion, you'll need a guard's outfit. You can obtain one by either eliminating a guard and taking his outfit, ensuring to conceal his body afterward, or by searching through the numerous chests scattered around the camp. Once you have the outfit equipped, you can freely explore the camp in search of Sam.
After freeing Sam, it's not yet time to extract him from the camp. He'll inform you about von Aulitz, who is also within the camp. It's advisable to deal with von Aulitz first, then secure a horse, and finally return to Sam for his escape. He can wait safely, and this sequence simplifies the tasks, as you'll need to carry him to the horse.
Von Aulitz can be found in the main section of the camp. With the guard outfit, the guards at his door will allow you entry without question. Upon finding von Aulitz, who is already on the brink of death, he'll request a dignified death. Granting this request is the most honorable choice. Alternatively, you can choose to kill him cruelly or leave him to suffer, which, surprisingly, aligns with achieving the best ending.
Your final steps involve retrieving Sam and a horse. Sam remains in the barn where you left him. If questioned by a guard about moving him, simply state you're relocating a body, which will dispel any suspicion. Head towards the camp gates, exit, and then turn right to follow the perimeter.
