Shadow Raid Surprise: Pokémon GO Unleashes New Event

Pokemon GO's Shadow Raid Day: A Ho-Oh-t January!

Get ready for a fiery showdown! Pokemon GO is kicking off 2025 with a Shadow Raid Day featuring the legendary Ho-Oh on January 19th. This is your chance to snag this powerful Fire-type Pokemon.

This inaugural Shadow Raid event of the year offers a fantastic opportunity to add a Shadow Ho-Oh to your collection. Shadow Raids, introduced in 2023, provide an exciting way to capture these unique variants. Following successful events last year featuring Shadow Moltres and Shadow Mewtwo, Ho-Oh takes center stage this January.

Event Details:

  • Date: Sunday, January 19, 2025
  • Time: 2 pm to 5 pm local time
  • Featured Pokemon: Shadow Ho-Oh (increased shiny odds!)
  • Raid Passes: Up to 7 free Raid Passes from spinning Gyms (boostable to 15 with a paid ticket).
  • Special Move: Teach your Shadow Ho-Oh the devastating Sacred Fire (130 power in Trainer Battles, 120 in Raids/Gyms) using a Charged TM.

Power Up Your Raid Day:

For an enhanced experience, a $5 ticket is available, boosting your Raid Pass limit to 15. This ticket also unlocks increased Rare Candy XL drop rates, a 50% XP bonus, and double Stardust from raids—all lasting until 10 pm local time on January 19th. A $4.99 Ultra Ticket Box bundles the event ticket with a Premium Battle Pass.

Beyond Ho-Oh:

The excitement doesn't stop there! Pokemon GO's 2025 calendar is already heating up, with recent events including Sprigatito Community Day and the introduction of Fidough. Future events to look forward to include Community Day Classic (January 25th) and the Lunar New Year event (January 29th – February 2nd).

Don't miss out on this incredible chance to catch a Shadow Ho-Oh and participate in the exciting events planned for the new year in Pokemon GO!
