Next month, PlayStation Plus subscribers will see 22 games removed from the library, including fan-favorites like Grand Theft Auto 5, Payday 2: Crimewave Edition, and the last playable versions of Sony's first-party titles Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2.
PlayStation Plus is a premium online gaming service for PlayStation platforms, offering a suite of benefits including free monthly games, time-limited trials, online multiplayer access, and exclusive member discounts. Additionally, it features a catalog of hundreds of current and classic games available to Extra and Premium members.
As highlighted by Push Square, the removal of these 22 games on May 20 includes two notable first-party Sony PS3 games, which will exit the PS Plus Premium library.

This significant change is particularly notable for Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2, as these titles are no longer available for purchase on the PS Store. This makes the PS Plus Premium streaming service the last remaining option for playing these games, unless you possess both the games and a functional PS3. Both titles are being delisted less than a year after their addition to the library at the end of 2024.
The Resistance series, developed by Insomniac Games, consists of alternate history first-person shooters that followed their successful Ratchet and Clank franchise. Three Resistance games were released for the PS3 before Insomniac shifted focus to other projects such as Marvel’s Spider-Man and new Ratchet and Clank titles.
While Sony occasionally removes first-party games from this service, the precedent was set with the surprising removal of both Horizon games — Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon: Forbidden West — in August 2024. However, those titles remained purchasable. In contrast, Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2 will become completely inaccessible on modern consoles.
Notably, Resistance 3 and Resistance: Retribution will continue to be available on the service. Also, the more recent first-party PS4 game InFamous: Second Son is set to depart from PS Plus.
Insomniac's Resistance series has been inactive for some time. In February, Insomniac founder and outgoing president Ted Price shared that there was a strong effort to develop Resistance 4, but the project did not move forward. Similar to Guerrilla's Killzone series, Resistance has been sidelined.
