Sony Unveils Sleek Midnight Black PlayStation 5 Accessory Collection

Sony has announced a stylish new Midnight Black Collection for the PlayStation 5, featuring four premium accessories: the DualSense Edge wireless controller, PlayStation Portal handheld, Pulse Elite wireless headset, and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds. This dark aesthetic complements the existing Midnight Black DualSense controller, expanding Sony's range of color options beyond the original white.

The collection boasts a sophisticated, all-black design. The DualSense Edge controller, PlayStation Portal, and Pulse Explore earbuds are priced at $199.99 each, while the Pulse Elite headset is slightly more affordable at $149.99. Note that this is a significant price increase for the headset compared to its predecessor. Both the headset and earbuds include a gray felt carrying case.

Pre-orders for the Midnight Black Collection begin January 16th, 2025, at 10 AM ET, exclusively through direct.playstation.com. The full launch is scheduled for February 20th, 2025.

Beyond the Midnight Black Collection, Sony continues to expand its accessory lineup with themed DualSense controllers. Recent releases include controllers inspired by popular games like God of War and Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and a limited-edition Helldivers 2 controller is currently available for pre-order.
